How to use Essential Oils for Wrinkles?
Before we jump into the best essential oils for mature skin, here are 5 quick pointers on using essential oils.
- 1Due to its potency, most essential oils should be diluted in carrier oil before applying directly on skin. Take note of essential oil limits: No more than 1% for facial leave-on products. No more than 0.5% lip balms. 0.1% is sufficient for the area around the eyes.
- 2Never ingest essential oils, unless under a trained aromatherapist.
- 3Store essential oils in a cool, dark place (without direct sunlight). They will last between two to three years.
- 4Choose pure essential oils. It is better if it is organic.
- 5Always consider using less essential oils for products aimed at children, pregnant women, and people with sensitive skin.
- 6As with all skin care rules, always do a patch test on skin before using product.

2. Rosehip Seed Oil
This is my absolute favorite because it reduces the tightness and redness on my skin! It has high amounts of essential fatty acids, and helps to regenerate skin cells. Therefore, it is great for those with damaged, dry or prematurely aged skin.
Rosehip seed oil absorbs fairly well. It “sits” on skin for a short while and gives that protective layer around my skin. Massage gently onto skin, and it will be fully absorbed after a few minutes.

How To Make Your Own Facial Oil For Wrinkles & Mature Skin
You will need to dilute essential oils in carrier oils.
Remember never to put more than 1% of essential oil.
It is best to use weight as measurement so that it is accurate. To make 10g of facial oil, you will add 0.1g (1%) of essential oils into 9.85g (98.5%) of carrier oil. I would also add 0.5% (0.05g) of Vitamin E. Vitamin E helps reduce oxidation of the oil, thus extending the shelf life of your facial oil.
I recommend creating your facial oil in small batches, so you can maintain its “freshness”.
Mix different essential oils into the carrier oil to reap more benefits of the essential oils.
